Dirk during forging.

Hand forged matched Scottish Knife set, with a Sgain Dubh and a Dirk. The blades are forged from high-carbon spring steel, hand filed, tempered and finished in a dark blue. The spine of each knife is pattern filed.

The matched grips are turned and carved from walnut burl, with old ivory pommels and guards, pewter rings, and a tiger-eye cabochon in a silver bezel. Sheaths are made of matched walnut burl with ebony throats.

The dirk has a turned ivory frog button with an inset tiger-eye. Wood is satin-finished with hand-rubbed Tung oil.

The Sgain Dubh has a 3” blade, 1” wide at the guard, and a 4” grip. The wickedly pointed dirk blade is 9.5” long, with a 5.25” long grip.
