Unique, high
capacity lobed black bison powderhorn is the
perfect companion for a
big-bore Hawkens rifle. The throat is carved with 11 flats turning to
round, and tightly wrapped with molded elkskin. The spout is ringed and
stippled, and the spout plug is turned from the horn tip.
The body is left
rough, the bark only slightly smoothed, and the
domed base
plug is maple burl, held with six wooden pegs. The strap is dark braided
elkskin.
The horn measures 10.5" along the outside curve with a 3" diameter base.
