A very elegant horn and powder measure set for the owner of a curly maple Hawken Kit Carson rifle.

The slender lobed horn has a pronounced double twist. The front band is carved in and the rear band in heat applied and pinned with wood.

The spout is turned with curly maple and the spout plug is turned horn. The base plug is turned maple as well, secured with small wood pegs, and finished with a blued-steel rifle sling swivel. The strap is leather.

The 110 gr. powder measure is carved and lathe-turned to match.

The horn is 15” long along the back, with another 2’’ added by the spout plug. The base is 2.5’’ in diameter. The powder measure is 4.25’’ long.
