This set has an interesting back-story. It was commissioned by a Canadian soldier who had served in Afghanistan with his best friend. The soldier is getting married and his friend is best man. The wolf hawk is the groom’s gift to the best man, while the bear hawk is the groom’s gift to himself.
Each hawk has an English-style head with a curly maple haft, with pewter rings and a spiral-carved grip. The mouthpiece and cleanout plug are turned from ebony. One blade is pierced with a wolf print and blued, the other pierced with a bear print and browned.
The steel heads are 7” long, the edge is 2.5”, and the total length is 20“.
