An unusual request. A simple and brutally effective warclub made and carried by Apache warriors. The oak handle is wrapped in wet elk rawhide, then stitched with sinew and dried.

A tennis ball sized river stone is also wrapped in rawhide and attached to the handle. This allows the stone head to whip a bit, increasing the force of the blow.

A braided wrist strap of elk leather and a scalplock of horsehair complete the club.

The handle is approximately 20" long. The stone is approximately 2.5" in diameter.

4/20/12 update: This client commissioned a second, smaller version of the same war club (click images at left for larger views in new window) and is considering having Larry make several more pieces for him. The same client commissioned Larry to create an Apache Knife.
