Bison Powderhorn Lead-Shot Flask

Sold: $195

For use with muzzle-loading shotguns, this bison powderhorn shot flask is designed to hold and measure a charge of lead shot.

The brass English Shot Flask charger head has a quick cut-off gate, operated by a side lever, which is marked to throw 1-1/2 and 1-1/4 volume of shot. The brass charger head is easily unscrewed from the brass neck, included, so you can easily remove it and refill your flask. The brass has been patinaed for the appearance of age.

The body of the powder horn is polished smooth, with just a hint of the bark left near the base. A strap groove is carved into the powderhorn just behind the charger. The charger head is secured with four large brass tacks. The base is turned from oak and detailed with a rope design, topped with a turned powderhorn strap finial, and secured with nine brass tacks.

This powder horn can be carried on either side.

The powderhorn (including spout and strap finial) is 11.5’’ long along the back curve, and the base is 3’’ in diameter.
