Crenellated Presentation French and Indian Powderhorn

Sold: $250Award Winning

A  slender, intricately carved presentation quality French and Indian (F&I) powderhorn. The body has a deep curve with no twist and is suited for carry on either side. All banding is carved integrally into the horn body. The spout plug was turned from the tip cutoff and carved with six facets  on the end.

The spout is formed with six facets as well. An integral front strap keeper is carved into the spout. Two rope bands divide the body into three sections and the base has a crenellated design. The horn has been gently patinaed.

The low domed base plug is turned maple with ring patterns and an iron screw strap hanger. The wood was stained, oiled and secured with brass domed tacks.

The horn is 17" long and 2.75" in diameter at the base.

* Accepted for display into the Pima Community College Annual juried Student Art Exhibition 2017. Received the Betty and JoeHarris Community Award.
