Flattened Primer Powder Horn

Sold: $100

An elegant flat powder horn with a hexagonal merging into a flattened oval body. The pouring spout is turned from antler and horn, and the spout plug is turned from horn as well. Tiny tacks secure the chamfered octagonal oak top plug and oval walnut base. A band of inlayed geometric wood wraps the horn below the top plug, and two brass eyes are set into the side for a strap. The horn is gently patinaed for an aged look.

The horn body is 5’’ along the back curve, and the spout and cap add another 2.5’’. The horn is only 1.5’’ thick and the base is 3.25” long.
