This very sturdy Kiridashi knife is hand-forged of 5160 spring steel and heat-treated to hold a sharp edge. The hammered forge finish is left intact, and only the double-convex cutting edge is polished. The integral grip is shaped to fit the hand and all the edges have been eased for comfort.

A heavyweight hand-made tooled antiqued leather sheath provides protection for the sharp edge, and the pommel is drilled for a leather lanyard.

The overall length of the knife is 7.5", and the blade edge is 2.25". It is 1/4" thick at the grip.

Kiridashi is a small traditional Japanese knife having a chisel grind and a sharp point, used as a general-purpose utility knife. The name roughly translates to "pointed knife" . They provide and lots of leverage at the edge and tip. They are useful for household chores, and in the workshop and garden.
