Hand forged matched Scottish Knife set, with a Sgian Dubh and a Dirk. The blades are forged from high-carbon spring steel, hand filed, tempered and finished with an aged patina. The spine of each knife is pattern filed.

The grips are made from the opposite ends of a large deer leg bone. the tang of each blade is secured with a copper rivet. The oval guards are formed of solid 1/4" thick copper.

Each blade is provided with a wet-formed heavy-weight stitched leather sheath.

The Sgain Dubh has a 3 1/4” blade, 1” wide at the guard, and a 4” grip. The dropped-point dirk blade is 11 3/8” long, with a 5 1/2” long grip.

A fine pair for the Clan leader.

From Wikipedia: The sgian-dubh (skiːənˈdu, skee-ən-DOO) is a small, single-edged knife worn as part of traditional Scottish Highland dress along with the kilt. Originally used for eating and preparing fruit, meat, and cutting bread and cheese, as well as serving for other more general day-to-day uses such as cutting material and protection, it is now worn as part of traditional Scottish dress tucked into the top of the kilt hose with only the upper portion of the hilt visible. The sgian-dubh is normally worn on the same side as the dominant hand.
