Gunstock War Club With Copper Blade

Sold: $850 (Shipping Included)

This large presentation war club is hand-carved from hard maple. The grip has a tear-drop section with a scalloped pommel and cone tacks. The stock has an incised panel that is stained black to contrast with the dark maple stain of the grip and edges. A domed copper boss is heat-colored, inletted and tacked to the butt section on each side. Brass tack designs cover the stock, including a snake, cross, cardinal directions and war arrows, using various sizes of tacks.

The wood has a hand-rubbed oil finish. A drop is attached, consisting of an replica eagle feather and a horsehair scalplock. The feather has a glass-beaded base, and the the scalplock is suspended from a tin cone.

A cold-forged double-edged, pierced copper blade is embedded into the stock. The blade is heat patinated and hammered.

The blade is 5" long by 2.75" wide, and 1/8’’ thick. The club is 31" long, 6" wide by 1.25” thick .
