Magua's Tomahawk (The Last of the Mohicans)

This unusual triangle-bladed, long-hafted tomahawk (similar to a Missouri River War Axe) is based on the one carried by the character Magua in the 1992 movie The Last of the Mohicans.

The heavy spring steel spiked blade is hand-forged and welded to shape and pierced with a rectangle cutout like the original, and finished in a dark aged patina. The hardened and sharpened edge is 2.75” long, and the overall length is 7”. The flat blades are 1/8” thick at the oval eye.

The long 23” oak handle is stained dark with a hand-rubbed patinated oil finish. The haft is lathe-turned and then hand-scraped. The cone carving provides a firm grip.

This is a brutal-looking weapon, and matches perfectly the character who wielded it.
