A  slim and elegant powder horn with a nice twist for right-hand carry, and a hand-carved spout plug and spout.

The tip had an unusually long solid tip section (5"), but was too curved to allow turning. The tip was removed, a plug peg added, and the tip was replaced on the body and hand-carved with an octagon tip, rings and beads to maintain the original horn profile. The body is engrailed nearly half the length back, and the spout and plug are dyed dark. The body has a pleasant patina.

The base plug is turned of maple, and inlaid with hot-poured pewter bands. The base is stained dark and secured to the body with wood pegs. An iron screw eye is provided as a strap attachment.

The horn is 15.5" long and 2.25" in diameter at the base.
