A large and beautiful presentation-grade pipe tomahawk, hand-forged from a carbon steel ball-pein hammer. The whole head is forged to rough shape and then files are used to 'carve' the head into its final form. The banded round pipe bowl sits on a squared base. The eye is heavy, with a deep narrow fuller at the base of the blade. The lower edge of the blade is scalloped with a deep beard. The top of the blade has a filed vine pattern The blade is darkly browned and the edge has been heat-treated and tempered.

The haft is premium curly maple, prepared with aqua fortis and stained a light oak. The lower portion of the grip is carved with finger grips. Above the grip are a total of nine cast-in pewter bands, and inlayed pure silver wire below the blade.

The clean-out plug and mouthpiece are turned from solid elk antler tips. The clean-out plug has a steel cleaning pick.

The presentation tomahawk measures 23", and the head is 7" long, with a 3” edge.
